In 1939, George Wilson Duncan, a native of Tennessee, graduated from Oklahoma A&M with a degree in Accounting. Looking for a place to work, he quickly took a job working for the accounting firm of Cassie Bingham in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Just 2 short years later, George purchased the firm and established G. Wilson Duncan Company, the predecessor to Duncan, Onley & Watkins, P.C.
Shortly after establishing G. Wilson Duncan Company, George Duncan's brother, Thomas, joined the firm. For the next 60 plus years, the firm would expand to include more members of the Duncan family, including the wives of George and Thomas, Daisy Mae and Sylvia, respectively. With offices in the old First National Bank building in downtown Stillwater, G. Wilson Duncan Company would also come to include John S. Hunt, Carol Schweithard, Betty Russo, and many others.
At Duncan, Onley & Watkins, we are proud of our long history of successfully serving our clients. We know where we've come from as a firm, which helps us know where we're going as a firm. We continue to strive to meet all of our clients needs, just as George and Thomas Duncan, along with everyone else, did all those years ago. Our Accountants look forward to continuing to provide high quality service which has been a staple of our firm since 1941.
